MAY 25th - EDMONTON ROAD TRIP

APRIL 27th - MEDICINE HAT ROAD TRIP

    About Us

Tim and Tracey Worsley are butchers from England.

    2000 purchased the family business.

2003 purchased the business next door, and expanded the premises. This allowed us to grow the business and range of products offered. Part of the business was a general store, and the other half was the butchers and delicatessen.

Some of the main products we made were sausages (offering over 50 varieties), dry cured bacon, kofta kebabs, burgers and scotch eggs. In addition we offered a large delicatessen range, a small example includes 20+ varieties of cheese, olives and home-cooked meats. We also had a selection of home baked pies and offered a sandwich making service.

In the early years of the business, we were able to take part in a Regional Sausage Competition. We were lucky enough to win 3rd place with two of our sausage flavours – Minted Lamb and Cumberland.

2008 a national company approached us, and purchased the premises.

    2009 emigrated to Canada.

In 2017 we became Canadian Citizens.

During Christmas 2018/2019, Tim & Tracey began producing sausages and bacon for friends to try.  Due to their positive responses, they decided to offer their products to the general public, using social media as their salesman.

January 2019, the British Banger Company Inc was registered.

February 2019, premises were found on Elizabeth Street, Okotoks.

March - May 2019, renovations took place.

May 31, 2019, the store opened for the first time to the general public, offering sausages, bacon, burgers, kofta kebabs, lamb, black pudding and scotch eggs, as well as a limited range of personalised shelf products.  A take out range of "butties" were also introduced.  Unique English fayre was now available in Southern Alberta.

October 2019, we were awarded the Best New Business 2019 by the Okotoks Chamber of Commerce.

September 2020, the Okotoks and Foothills residents voted us the Silver Award for Best New Business.

2020 onwards has brought the introduction of more products to the range, these include pies and pasties.  In addition, we now import a full range of shelf products, which both compliment and run alongside the butchery/bakery products.  It is planned to add more products to the store, in the raw, baked and shelf departments.  Allowing the store to evolve and grow is a very exciting project to us.

June 2021 a new store in Medicine Hat was opened.  This offers all the products produced in the Okotoks store.  However, we have chosen to provide the raw and pastry items as frozen items, other than sausage rolls, pork pies, scotch eggs and clotted cream, which are available in the cooler.  English shelf goods are also available in the store.

September 2021, we were honoured to be voted the Gold Award for the Best Place To Buy Imported Foods throughout the Foothills and Okotoks.

November 2021 the production facility moved to a brand new industrial unit in Aldersyde, as it has now outgrown the Okotoks store.  The store was redesigned for a retail service only.

August 2022, our Medicine Hat store relocated to it's current premises on Dunmore Road.  Sadly we had no option, due to equipment failure and loss of stock.  The new store has increased substantially in size, which will allow for future growth.

September 2022, we were honoured for the second year, to be voted the Gold Award for the Best Place To Buy Imported Foods throughout the Foothills and Okotoks.
